Νεώτερον δίδασκε neoteron didaske (To teach the younger)

~ Delphic Orders

Ancient Greek music for children! For the Ancient Greeks the really educated man was the "musical man". Protagoras in the Platonic dialogue of the same name states that music teachers "force the souls of children to get acquainted with the rhythms and harmonies of music, so that they become more modern people and, after getting used to the good rhythm, to become useful in both words and deeds, because the whole of human life needs both good rhythm and good harmony".

A section specially designed for children, which acquaints them with the rhythms, the metric, the instruments and the song in ancient Greece, by studying:

  • ancient pronunciation

  • meter speech

  • ancient Greek music theory

  • rhythm

  • choral songs from texts of ancient Greek poetry
